Barrie Cadogan (Little Barrie & Primal Scream) took delivery of the first 2 x 12″ Regent 25 combination amplifier (see his interview with Guitarist Magazine).

Barrie can be seen (and heard…..) putting his new amplifier through its paces on our Youtube channel using a variety of guitars, including a £109 Squier Bullet. Checkout our media section to access the videos.

The Regent 25 is available both as a head (£875) and as a 2 x 12″ combination (from £1225 depending on speaker configuration).

We will be sharing a stand with Zilla Music, and will have a selection of our amps at the show so that you can try them out (and the Zilla cabs), and maybe even purchase/ order one! At very least you could stop the general public suffering my guitar playing!

We will be offering a 10% discount on all purchases, with free shipping within the UK if you want an item don’t have at the show.

After some experimentation and testing with Paul at Zilla Music who constructs our cabinetry, we are pleased to announce our new range of combination amplifiers.

We will be formally launching the KT66 driven Regent 25 model in the New Year. This will include sound samples and video footage.

We will be launching two new amplifiers: the “Sir Charles 15″, and the “King Charles 30″ (no prizes for guessing their power output), which we will have for sale at a “show special” price.

Here’s a Sir Charles 15 in BRG with white stripe. Other colour options are available at no extra cost, although all amps will have Go Faster stripe for enhanced tone.

These amps are our own design, and are hand wired by us using as many UK-made parts as possible, eg transformers, chassis etc. Cabinetry and panel engraving is done in house.

We’ll also have a range of Tayden speakers on our stand, and Paul from Tayden will be dropping in on Sunday.

Due to increasing demand for custom amp panels and logos etc, JPF Amps have recently acquired a computer-controlled flat bed rotary engraver. This now means we can design and engrave anything we need in house, which not only saves us money, but also gives us a much greater degree of flexibility.

It is our intention to provide an affordable engraving service for other amp builders, and DIYers.

We are aiming to launch a seperate web-site for our engraving services in the near future, but feel free to get in touch with us with your engraving requirements. By the way the maximum engraving size is 600 x 400 mm.

JPF Amplification Ltd will be on stall 168 at Guitar Nation 2010, 13 & 14th November at London Olympia.

Not only will we have some amplifiers for sale, we’ll also have the Tayden range of speakers to test out.

This is the best books I’ve read on guitar amp pre-amps, which will come as no surprise to anyone who has visited Merlin’s excellent website. Although the approach is quite academic, even if you aren’t into the maths (sad to say I am), there are a ton of useful ideas and practical tips.

Thoroughly recommended.

The only disappointing feature of the book is that the author chose to you “tube” in the title rather than “valve”!
